The Cajon is similar in shape to a small cube, usually made of wood, with a device in the center of the four-sided rectangular case for striking, an opening for finger playing, and a back door for adjusting the tone inside the case. A common Cajon measures 12 inches by 12 inches by 18 inches and weighs around 10 pounds. Because of its small size and light weight, the Cajon can be easily carried and played, making it ideal for indoor or outdoor performances.
